about
On November 11th, 2017, my friend Ash Rickli left earth. During his time here, he inspired many with the depth and grace of his spirit. He inspires me, and I'm grateful to have witnessed the profound love he shares with Desi-- they speak in dream vision and move through landscapes of time and space with a deftness of magic that is seldom encountered.
I wrote this song while under the influence of dream vision, and have been hearing it in my head while grieving and processing the news about Ash these past few days. The text of it reminds me of Ash & Desi's love; expansive, cosmic, and sweet. I share it now as a vehicle to generate $ toward the Ash Rickli Family Fund. Desi is expecting twins, and Ash's departure leaves material needs that you can help with.
Do you remember the life before this?
Where we met in a prairie
under the sun and got so lost, so lost in reverie
that it was almost as though we never existed.
Sometimes I feel with you as if I'm lost in time, outcast, and its my favorite place.
Do you remember when we descended deep under the surface of the earth? Buried in promises, promises of the dreams we speak through.
